Garden of Her Heart is a story of recovery, community and purpose through rescuing a kitchen garden at Pinewoods Retreat. Universally described as a hug in a book, heartwarming, and a perfect holiday read, Holly's story sensitively covers themes of mental health and friendship.
I am a suicide survivor, and talking therapies didn't work for me, so in writing Garden of Her Heart, I wanted to show through story form how there are other ways we can manage our recovery in a way that works best for us.
Good Housekeeping Magazine has selected Garden of Her Heart for its list of 40 of The Best Feelgood Books.
Tell It To The Bees is a standalone sequel, with a trip back to Pinewoods Retreat. We meet Georgie, who comes to stay at the retreat under false pretences. Pinewoods is in trouble, with bills escalating, and urgent repairs needed to keep guest rooms open.
We return to some of our beloved characters from Garden of Her Heart, as we follow Georgie's visit. It doesn't take long for Pinewoods to work its magic on her, and she finds solace in telling her troubles to the bees. As she does, she starts to question her life and the things she accepts - or more truthfully, puts up with.
People describe this as another warm hug of a book, and love being back at Pinewoods Retreat.

This is a story about how we can easily make biased judgements about others, whilst being annoyed that others make unfounded judgements about us.
